The Spy Franchise Scores the Highest Diwali Opening for Bollywood

Marking the third installment in YRF’s blockbuster ‘Tiger’ franchise, ‘Tiger 3’ broke Bollywood’s Diwali opening day record. The previous best was Shah Rukh Khan’s 2011 action film ‘Ra.One’, which collected Rs 25 crore. With its Rs 44.5 crore opening, ‘Tiger 3‘ has set a new benchmark.

Salman-Katrina’s Onscreen Jodi Proves Unstoppable

Along with Salman Khan, ‘Tiger 3’ also stars Katrina Kaif, reprising her role as spy Zoya. The onscreen chemistry between Salman and Katrina has clearly worked its magic again, as evident in the film’s opening numbers. Their roles as RAW spy Avinash and ISI agent Zoya have become hugely popular among fans.

‘Tiger 3’ expands the YRF spy universe with extended cameos by Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. Their presence has added to the buzz and curiosity around the film. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, ‘Tiger 3’ is the most expensive YRF production yet, with a budget of Rs 300 crore.

With largely positive reviews and strong word of mouth, ‘Tiger 3’ is expected to record huge earnings over the extended Diwali weekend. The Salman-Katrina starrer will hope to enter the Rs 100 crore club within days.
