Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have reportedly abducted the suspended chairman of Okpokwu LGA Benue State , Amina Audu, along with two others.
Sources told journalists on Monday in Makurdi that Audu and two others were kidnapped along Makurdi – Naka road on their way to Makurdi.
The source added that a relation and the driver who were traveling with her were also abducted by the arms-wielding herdsmen who allegedly blocked the road and shot at her vehicle.
Eyewitness who spoke under condition of anonymity said they were taken into the bush after being dispossessed of their personal items, before their vehicle was towed to a nearby village within the area by community guards who took to their heals because of the superior fire power of the bandits.
Efforts to get information about the incident from the Benue Police Command spokesperson, SP, Catherine Anene, were not successful as she is yet to respond to enquires.
