Singer Songwriter Ava Max Slapped on Stage in LA

Amanda Ava Koci who professionally goes as Ava Max, was performing in Los Angeles when a concert goer rushed onto the stage. As the security personnel tried to force him down, the man slapped Ava hitting her face. While she reacted to the assault Ava Max did not stop the performance. Later that day she tweeted, “He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye. He’s never coming to a show again 😡😡thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!❤️

Music executive Scooter Braun shared an instagram story where Max is seen holding a bottle of beer over her injured eye backstage.

The loyal fanbase of the 29 year-old pop star have showered support upon the artist on twitter. A particular person, who has worked in the past as a bouncer, said “I don’t know this woman’s music, but I was a bouncer roadie for Soundgarden back in my college days. You need better security, we’d have never let the guy get a 2nd foot on stage.” However, there hasn’t been any official statement about the role of security personnel during the incident.

This incident took place just a few days after another singer songwriter Bebe Rexha was assaulted on stage by a man. A 27 year-old man called Nicolas Malvagna threw a cell phone at Bebe Rexha. This happened at Pier 17, New York City. The perpetrator was arrested and later charged with assault. On Monday, Rexha shared pictures that show a black eye and a laceration near the eyebrow.

These incidents raise questions about the security of performers during concerts. It also raises a vital question about the mental get up of people who pay money to be at a concert and then assault the artist.
