Russian Diplomat Says Moscow, Tehran, Ankara And Damascus Began Work To Set Up Foreign Ministers Meeting

Russia, Turkey, Syria and Iran have began work to find out the time and modality for a gathering of their international ministers, Deputy Overseas Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has mentioned in an interview with TASS.

“The group of a four-way assembly of international ministers has been placed on the agenda. Work is underway to find out its modality and time,” said Bogdanov, who can be the presidential envoy for the Center East and Africa.

The diplomat added that Russian Overseas Minister Sergey Lavrov mentioned at a joint information convention with Egyptian Overseas Minister Sameh Shoukry that Russia supported participation of Iran in any additional talks to normalize relations between Turkey and Syria.

“That may make it doable to reap the benefits of the potential that was constructed up as a part of the Astana course of, which proved its effectiveness,” Bogdanov continued.

The protection ministers of Russia, Syria and Turkey held consultations in Moscow on December 28, 2022 as a part of the method of normalizing relations between Ankara and Damascus. Turkish sources reported that the edges agreed to arrange a trilateral fee.
